Welcome to the Expo Development Opportunity Study (DOS)

RFEI DEADLINE EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 12

As the Portland Expo Center celebrates its 100 year anniversary, Metro is considering how the site can best serve the people of the Portland area in future years. For the past 2.5 years, Metro has been conducting a study about potential options, and engaging community stakeholders to develop a decision-making framework. These Guiding Principles, will help identify potential future options for the Expo Center venue and property that center both Metro’s core mission.

In its current phase, the purpose of the Expo DOS project is to:

  1. Ask residents about the region’s most important economic needs that the Expo Center property could potentially serve.
  2. Invite locally-based teams to prepare submissions on how the Expo Center site could be reimagined to provide equitable economic prosperity for the region.
  3. Understand what matters most to residents in the region and how the Portland Expo Center could be part of the solution in addressing those priorities.

This website is a resource to learn more about the project and provide input on this regionally significant development opportunity.
